Rowland Hill Nursery School & Children's Centre

Students and Volunteers

Interested in volunteering?

We run an inhouse volunteering course annually, the course usually runs for 4-5 weeks and covers the expectations of being a volunteer, safeguarding and equality.

Once the volunteer training has been completed all successful volunteers will need to undertake a DBS check before starting their placement and will also need two suitable references.

The various options in relation to where you can volunteer will be explained in more depth at the training.

Once you have volunteered for a minimum of 3-6 months we would be able to provide a reference for you.

Do you need a student placement?

We are able to offer a range of student placements. To see if this possible, please submit the form below with more information about your placement request.

Are you a parent looking for work, training courses or volunteering opportunities?

The Children Centre team are available to support parents with children under 5 years old into employment opportunities.

This could include referring you to organisations that will support you with CV writing, interview techniques and more.

We also run a range of childcare courses on site in partnership with Barnet and Southgate college, so if you are considering a pathway of learning in Early Years we can help you start your journey.

In addition to our in house volunteering programme we may also be able to share wider volunteering opportunities in the local community
